Village charms
This isn’t the sleepy town you might imagine. People are stoked and doing things, and Bude is ripe with art and artist minds.
Our virtual takeover of Bude on Saturday May 9 introduced us to a generous surfboard shaper. One day shy of his 70th birthday, Roger Tour behaves and looks the part of a gregarious twentysomething.
Artist Franca Westaway led us in a session of doodling sheep, with a focus on letting imagination go.
Beth and her mum Jeni Lewitt of the Beach House Hotel shared insight into Cornwall’s rich social tapestry
“If you cannot see the stars, how can you gain an interest in astronomy? Being from a quiet place, we get a lot of stargazers coming …” Beth - Proprietor, Beach House Hotel
None of this would be possible without the bottomless kindness of our superhero Margaret Frost, who ran a coffee caravan and was the heart and soul of the town.
