That was then

On 16th September 2021 with the Inspiration4 mission, Jared Isaacman became the first civlilian to lead an all civilian crew into space, on one of Elon Musk’s Space X rockets, taking an engineer, artist and a nurse with him.

He’d come a long way in life, having aimed higher than high and leaving education after high school to focus on a FinTech business he’d started in his bedroom which is now one of the world’s most successful payment businesses

Read about him and the mission here and watch the epic Netflix boxset about that mission here

As well as raising $250m for St Jude’s children’s cancer hospital, the mission also funded our two week #MissionToMars21 UK Tour and saw us on the BBC 6 O’Clock news as you can see below.

THIS IS NOW

Fast forward to today and Jared is due to do it again but higher and more audaciously, by performing the first civilian and commercial space walk on the Polaris Dawn Mission, the first of three missions due to culminate in him being the first human the fly on on one of Space X’s StarShips.

This isn’t the future any more, it’s happening now.

And we’ll be watching. WIll you?

Our own #StarShip22 landed in a farm in Devon for the first launch attempt after the Gone Wild Festival there and aimed to restream the launch and other key milestones on the mission and connect with Felix ‘Space TIme, the 15 year old YouTuber who Jared has generously flown out with his mum to see the launch first hand.

We’ve been delighted`to have Felix and his dad on our crews at our festival pop ups this and last year. This year he joined Nick in his main stage show at the Gone Wild Festival in Norfolk.

We’re hoping he may be able to call in some time to share his experience

Sadly the weather was against the launch then

So

We’re waiting and watching.
