A TWO MONTH UK TOUR AND THREE DAY FESTIVAL?
IN LOCK DOWN?
Believe it. We have an Arts Council grant, we can do anything
But you won’t believe your eyes!
We only built a cardboard Mars Base Camp One in the KS1 playground at Parklands Primary, inspired by Tracey Island off Thunderbirds and launched a 200 foot high cardboard rocket off it!
If we can live stream from A cliff top in Cornwall we can live stream FROM SPACE OR in your school HALL to your classrooms and community.
LET’S ENCOURAGE ALL OUR CHILDREN TO AIM HIGH, HIGHER THAN HIGH
Nov - Dec: Live Streamed assemblies in schools across the UK
4- 6 Dec: Live Streamed Festival weekend at Parklands Primary in Leeds:
Why don’t you give an inspiring talk?
Maybe inspire us with a performance
Run a creative activity
Lead a community workshop
Enter some art for the #EclecticArtTrail
With 6 months of semi lock down on us we realised we need to do more to keep our children and communities inspired to learn.
We’ve heard how most schools now can’t run all school assemblies due to social distancing and class/year based bubbles so we’re hitting the road with a Covid Secure version of our Whats’ Your Art and Rocket Kids sessions in the lead up to a Weekend Festival with our friends at Parklands Primary in Leeds on the weekend of 4-6 December
That will surely be a weekend for them to remember as well as all the schools we work with on the tour before we get there because we want everyone to be a part of it, with their art.
ANNOUNCEMENT FILM
That will surely be a weekend for them to remember as well as all the schools we work with on the tour before we get there because we want everyone to be a part of it, with their art.
SCHOOL SESSIONS
On our UK tour we will be taking our #AIMHIGH20 Session into UK schools either by live streaming to you from the International Space station or by bringing our full live streaming set up and Covid Secure activities to your school.
As you can see in this film of a similar session from last summer, his full day session consists of:
ALL SCHOOL ASSEMBLY - a 45 minute roller coast talk about aspiration and creativity, based on our #WhatsYourArt and #RocketKids Sessions, all live streamed from your playground or assembly hall to your class rooms and school community on a secure web page.
CREATIVE ACTIVITIES - a carousel of four creative activities - Rocket Making, Coding, Inventing and Graphic Design (for a small fee we can send resources)
COMMUNITY ROCKET LAUNCH - a grand finale to send everyone home buzzing, a real dynamite rocket launch in the school playground.
TAKE HOME RESOURCES - we’ll send the children home with activity sheets to do with their parents and creative carers and provide a link to some of our Rocket Kid Stories to read together at bedtime.
All Covid Secure, Risk Assessed and Insured.
We’re delighted to have received a Cultural Relief Grant from HM Treasury, DCMS and The Arts Council to help with this so can offer the school sessions half price at £150 (usually £300)
If you want us to visit your school to set up a full internet TV station and live stream from your school hall, we request a donation to our non-profit Community enterprise coffers of £750 as there is a lot of cost and effort involved in staging this thought you will also get a real dynamite rocket launch at the end of the day!
We can live stream across groups of schools or to whole Multi Academy Trusts.
Either way, we’ll also live stream to a secure YouTube page for families and children at home to be part of it.
Be sure to get in touch for more info or to book sign here up now
WEEKEND FESTIVAL
We’re delighted to announce a weekend event 4-6 December to be live streamed from Parklands Primary, an “extraordinary school” (as you can see in the film below) on the Seacroft Estate in Leeds.
The festival will be based on the best bits of our #ARTofCOMMUNITY weekend at Eden Project, #YourGlasto and #ArtCamp20
A weekend for young and old, we’re looking for uplifting performances, inspiring talks, creative activities and community workshops.
You could even submit some art for our #EclecticArtTrail that will ruin in the grounds of Parklands Primary school over the weekend.
If you’d like to perform, speak, lead creative activities or just log on and watch and comment, then do sign up now.
OUR COMMUNITY LOCK-IN
We had a very busy time in our Community Lock-In - a multi channel internet TV studio.
We lived streamed all sorts of creative content. We ran a 3 day festival at Eden Project and built a half size Pyramid Stage in a school playing field in Somerset for a #YourGlasto Weekend (see film below) where we heard from Martin and Gary Kemp alongside a set form Glen Matlock, co-founder of the Sex Pistols and a lad form Leeds played piano and ended up on BBC Breakfast!
We ran a weekend festival - #ArtCamp20 in a Devonian meadow which featured a Covid Secure #EclecticArtTrail and then did a pop-up on a virtual float for Notting Hill Carnival.
OUR HOST SCHOOL - PARKLANDS PRIMARY
We’re both delighted and proud that Chris Dyson, Head Teacher at Parklands Primary has offered to host this #AIMHIGH20 Festival weekend there on the Seacroft Estate in Leeds.
It’s a remarkable school, in a pretty tough, socially challenged setting, that is built on empathy, respect and aspiration.
Every Christmas, Chris treats the whole community, including children from other schools to a Christmas Eve Eve, with a hot dinner for everyone, presents, Santa and real reindeers.
After a full page article in the Guardian last Christmas, Chris was on national TV and even featured as hero of the week in The Sun.
With Covid and lock down it wasn’t an option but the #AIMHIGH20 Festival will kick off a month long #XmasAtParklands.
Just look at the film below to get a feel for what a special school Parklands is.
